The Setai Ocean Suites Earns a 9.8 in an Unannounced Torbrook Stay
An unannounced stay steps from the water on Miami Beach finds a pristine lobby, a front desk happy to hand over the highest room in the house, service beyond impeccable and mornings that open straight onto the Atlantic — with the JAYA restaurant and the Valmont Spa sealing one of the Torbrook Rating Agency’s highest scores.

The Setai Ocean Suites in Miami Beach has been rated 9.8 out of 10 by the Torbrook Rating Agency, TNN’s business review desk — one of the highest scores the agency has issued. As with all of our independent evaluations, this stay was entirely unannounced: a member of our team booked, checked in and stayed as an ordinary guest, and the hotel had no knowledge that a review was underway. What follows is exactly what a guest walking through those doors can expect.
The setting alone makes half the argument. The Setai stands right by Miami Beach, near the water’s edge, and the views of the Atlantic are stunning — not a distant strip of blue caught between buildings, but the ocean itself, present from the moment you arrive and never far from a window afterward.
The first steps inside confirm the standard. The lobby reads as genuinely high end, and — more telling than any finish or fixture — everything in it was clean, organized and pristine. Spaces like this are easy to design and hard to maintain; the Setai maintains it. The staff met our reviewer with real politeness at the door, the kind of welcome that sets a tone rather than performs one.
The clearest measure of the service came at check-in. Our reviewer asked for a higher floor in hopes of a better view of the water — the kind of request a busy front desk can easily deflect. Instead, the staff were happy to offer the highest room they had available, without hesitation and without being pressed. It is a small exchange that says a great deal about how this hotel treats its guests.
The room rewarded the ride up. The suites are spacious, and everything in them was spotless — from the bathroom through to the linens, nothing had been skipped. Throughout the stay the staff remained closely attentive, and the service, in our reviewer’s words, was beyond impeccable. And then there are the mornings: waking up to the views the Setai has to offer, with the Atlantic filling the glass, is an experience our reviewer can only describe as incredible.
The hotel’s restaurant, JAYA, held the same standard. The staff there were friendly and kind, and the food was simply amazing. JAYA serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, so a guest never needs to leave the property to eat well at any hour. One practical note: the restaurant asks diners to adhere to a dress code, which is published on its website and worth a glance before you go down.
Then there is the Valmont Spa, which our reviewer recommends in the highest terms. The massage was unlike any they had experienced before — spectacular is the word they reached for — and it delivered a rare combination: our reviewer left the spa feeling deeply relaxed and, at the same time, genuinely energized.
A 9.8 places The Setai Ocean Suites among the very best establishments the Torbrook Rating Agency has evaluated, and it earned the score with no notice, no preparation and no idea anyone was scoring it. From a pristine lobby to the highest room in the house, from JAYA’s table to the Valmont Spa, and above all those stunning views of the water — this place, in our reviewer’s summary, is simply amazing.
This review is the result of a private, unannounced stay by the Torbrook Rating Agency. The Setai Ocean Suites did not request, pay for, or have advance knowledge of this evaluation. Scores are the agency’s own independent, in-person assessment — ratings cannot be bought.
